On the occasion of the »Open Monument Day 2021« a conversation about monuments for tomorrow with Dr. Marcel Schumacher and Amit Goffer will take place on Sunday, the 12th of September 2021 at 16h at the Kunsthaus.

»Sleeping for Tomorrow« is a social art project created by the Israeli-German visual artist Amit Goffer. It is a collection of peoples thoughts and ideas about past, present and future moments, about the conflict between a sense of security, of isolation and of universal changes. One of the project’s aims is to create a connection between the physical and digital worlds.

A German one-man bunker from WWII that was changed in a sculptural way. A single person could take refuge in this patented bunker. visitors can contact the world via a counter and share their feelings and thoughts with others as a spoken message, which is then presented on the website and blog that will be displayed in the coming weeks.

The artist talk will be held in English, on Zoom, and livestreamed at the Kunsthaus. Link tba here.

This social art project was made possible with the support of Kornelimünster Aachen, Jubiläumsstiftung der Sparkasse Neuss, German, STIFTUNG KUNSTFONDS, NEUSTART KULTUR 2020/21, Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen
